Ayurvedic Bodywork

Ayurvedic Medicine

What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is considered by many scholars to be the oldest healing science. In Sanskrit, Ayurveda means “The Science of Life.” Ayurvedic knowledge originated in India more than 5,000 years ago and is often called the “Mother of All Healing.” It stems from the ancient Vedic culture and was taught for many thousands of years in an oral tradition from accomplished masters to their disciples.

Ayurveda places great emphasis on prevention and encourages the maintenance of health through close attention to balance in one’s life, right thinking, diet, lifestyle and the use of herbs. Knowledge of Ayurveda enables one to understand how to create this balance of body, mind and consciousness according to one’s own individual constitution and how to make lifestyle changes to bring about and maintain this balance.

Ayurvedic Bodywork Treatments

Preparation and information about Ayurvedic treatments:

Make sure you read all the contraindications of each treatment before booking and email if you have questions or concerns.

It is advisable to eat only a light snack 90 minutes prior if you are hungry before the treatment.

It is advised to book sessions into your daily schedule that allow for ample time to rest and relax after the treatment.

These treatments are most effective when done in a series of sessions. Treatments can be done up to three times in a week, every second day for acute presentations, once a week, once a month, or less frequently for maintenance. To find out what is best suitable for you and your needs contact us before booking.

Each and every session will begin with a short intake and assessment to determine clients vikriti (imbalances) that need to be addressed during the treatment. There will be time at the end of each session for clients to slowly enter back into the room, drink herbal tea/water and prepare the body to return to the rest of their day. The time will vary based on the treatment.

Please note that I WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING PREGNANT CLIENTS for bodywork treatments at this time, I would love to support you in your postpartum journey so please reach out!

All prices reflect the production and use of handmade herbal oils and special equipment needed for each session.

Ayurvedic Facial Treatment

Rooted in the traditional beauty practices of Ayurveda, a holistic healing system born in India over 5000 years ago, this facial treatment makes use of organic and handcrafted formulations that deeply cleanse, rejuvenate and enhance skin radiance. The session is personally tailored according to skin doshas and includes ancient Ayurvedic facial massage techniques to support lymph, blood and energetic circulation to reveal your natural beauty. Ayurvedic Facial Massage treats the lymph through the skin, which then prevents an imbalance from arising in the blood stream and stimulates lymphatic drainage from the skin into the circulatory system of the body. If the skin gets dry and toxic from the environment and the lymph becomes congested, the skin will be rendered non-functional. These impurities slotted for lymph and skin removal will be shunted into the muscles, joints and fat cells, creating problems there, and further age the texture of the skin. The facial includes: cleansing, toning, exfoliation, manual massage, kansa marma massage and tailored facial mask. Relax and enjoy warm steamed towels, energy healing and aromatherapy shoulder, neck and scalp massage.

This treatment is safe for all skin types but should be avoided if you have any open cuts/wounds on the face, neck or head, any recent neck or head injuries/surgeries.
